Stability AI convicted of infringing property rights by the end of 2026?
Market Rules
Stability AI is the defendant in lawsuits in the United States and in the United Kingdom for infringement of intellectual property rights by training its open-source artificial intelligence using someone else's creative productions without licensing nor consent. Three artists are prosecuting the company in a class action in Delaware at the same time as photo agency Getty Images proceeds with a lawsuit in London.
If Stability AI gets convicted in court in any of the aforementioned cases (or any other case moved for similar reasons) by December 31st, 2026, this market will resolve to “Yes”. This market will not take into account appeal decisions in court beyond the first instance.
If Stability AI settles any of the cases without admitting guilt, this will not be considered a conviction for the purpose of this market.
