Italian mogul Silvio Berlusconi’s death on June 12th, 2023, cast uncertainty over the future of the political party Forza Italia. Berlusconi, one of the actors responsible for brokering the coalition that made the Giorgia Meloni government possible, was directly responsible for the founding and funding the party in the 1990’s, for its revival in the 2010’s, and was also its most notorious representative.

If Forza Italia either merges with another political party or ceases to exist as an individual political party in Italy by December 31st, 2025, this market will resolve to “No”.

If Forza Italia merges with another party but the new entity is still named Forza Italia, that will not constitute a 'No' resolution.
