Will US nonfarm payroll employment increase in July?

Market Rules

US nonfarm payroll employment numbers are released monthly by the Bureau of Labor Statistics as part of the Employment Situation Summary. Many consider this to be the most important data point of the entire report. New reports are traditionally released on the first Friday of each month - based on data that covers the period up to the middle of the previous month – and may include revisions of the data from the previous months.

In its most recent report, the Bureau announced that total nonfarm payroll employment had risen by 57,000 in June 2026.

If the next Employment Situation Summary indicates that nonfarm payroll employment in the US grew more in July 2026 than it did in June 2026, this market will resolve to “Yes”. The market will resolve based on the initial June report, not considering any subsequent revisions to that data.
