Will LY-CoV555 be effective in temporarily immunizing people against SARS-COV-2?

Market Rules

Researchers at the American pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly & Co are developing an experimental treatment against SARS-Cov-2 using synthetic antibodies. The idea of the drug is not to provide long-term immunity, but to be an additional protection for health professionals, the most vulnerable patients, and people who need to have contact with the public or infected people.

Like natural antibodies, this synthetic antibody must connect to the virus and block it. The drug, called LY-CoV555, is in phase III testing in humans, and results are expected by the end of 2020.

If the drug LY-CoV555 proves to be effective in temporarily providing immunity to people against SARS-COV-2 by the end of 2020 - and such efficacy is confirmed by the scientific community - this market will be resolved as “Yes”.
