According to security firm Emsisoft's report "The State of Ransomware in the US", hundreds of American government agencies, educational establishments, and healthcare providers are annually hit by ransomware incidents.

If the statistics published by Emsisoft for the year of 2021 show an increase in the cases of ransomware incidents in comparison to figures of 2020, this market will be resolved as "Yes".

It is necessary for a "Yes" resolution that the report encompasses the whole year of 2021 – January 1st to December 31st. If by any means Emsisoft doesn't publish a report on the issue for this given period, Futuur will take the liberty of using another report on the same issue by another credible author. If by January 31st, 2022, there isn't any such alternative report available, this market will be canceled and all active wagers will be returned to forecasters.
