Global temperature in November 2024 to be higher than in November 2023?
Market Rules
According to the US Environmental Information Centers of Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), September 2023 was the warmest month since it began recording global temperature 144 years ago. This "milestone" is yet another alarm of the climate crisis arising from human activity, and raises questions about the measurements for the coming months.
If the rise in the world's global temperature — i.e. the combination of both land surface and ocean temperatures — for November 2024 is greater than +1.42°C (the recorded rise for November 2023), this market will resolve to “Yes”.
This market will be resolved based on the data made available at https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/access/monitoring/climate-at-a-glance/global/time-series/globe/land_ocean/all/8/2015-2024
If NOAA changes its method for calculating global temperature, Futuur will use its discretion to determine the most comparable figure for resolution.
