Next United States Secretary of Labor announced by Donald Trump

Market Rules

Following the resignation of Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer on April 20, 2026, this event tracks which individual President Donald Trump will announce as the next United States Secretary of Labor in 2026. Each market under this event corresponds to a potential nominee. Only the market matching the person Trump publicly announces will resolve to "Yes"; all others resolve to "No". If no announcement is made by the end of 2026, the market "None in 2026" will resolve to "Yes".

An "announcement" means a public statement by the President (including via social media such as Truth Social), the White House press office, or another authorized administration spokesperson identifying the individual as the nominee or appointee for Secretary of Labor. For this event’s purposes, formal Senate nomination or confirmation is not required; the announcement itself suffices.

If Trump announces a nominee who later withdraws and a different person is announced, only the first official announcement counts for resolution. Resolution will be based on the official aforementioned primary sources. If these primary sources are insufficient or lack clarity to evaluate whether an announcement has been made, resolution will rely on concordant reporting by concordant reports of reliable news outlets chosen at Futuur’s discretion.
