US crude oil reserves below 375 million barrels by June 5?
Market Rules
If the U.S. Ending Stocks of Crude Oil in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) fall below 375 million barrels at any point between May 4 and June 5, 2026, 23:59:59 UTC, this market will resolve to "Yes". The Primary Designated Source is the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), specifically the weekly data series "U.S. Ending Stocks of Crude Oil in SPR" (series ID: WCSSTUS1).
Resolution is based on any weekly data point in this series with a reporting week ending on or before June 5, 2026, showing a value below 375,000 thousand barrels (i.e., below 375 million barrels). The SPR's authorized storage capacity is 727 million barrels.
If the EIA delays publication of the weekly data or changes the reporting methodology, Futuur will use the closest equivalent official EIA data series for SPR crude oil ending stocks. Subsequent revisions to previously published weekly figures will not affect resolution. Resolution follows the spirit of the market: determining whether the SPR's crude oil inventory dropped below 375 million barrels at any point by the end of June 5, 2026.
