Next Prime Minister of Spain?
Market Rules
This set of markets tracks the next individual to officially assume office as Prime Minister of Spain (President of the Government) between July 14, 2026, and March 31, 2028, 11:59 PM ET. To count for resolution, the individual must win a parliamentary vote of confidence (investiture) in the Congress of Deputies and be formally sworn in, resulting in the official formation of a new government. Interim or caretaker prime ministers who do not win a parliamentary vote of confidence do not count. If the incumbent, Pedro Sánchez, wins a new vote of confidence and is sworn in again, he counts as the next Prime Minister. If no individual meets these criteria by the deadline, all markets under this set resolve to "No".
The Primary Designated Source is official information from the Government of Spain (La Moncloa) and the appointment decree published in the Boletín Oficial del Estado (BOE). If the primary source is unavailable or ambiguous, a clear consensus of credible reporting will be used, honoring the spirit of the market.
