Some analysts of the Russian-Ukraine conflict have voiced the possibility that Russian armed forces might use nuclear weapons in the context of tactics setbacks in the Ukrainian territory, the strengthening of Western alliances to Ukrainian forces, or in a covert fashion, alleging an incriminating use of nuclear power by the opponent.
This market will be resolved as “Yes” if the Russian Federation uses at least one nuclear weapon by June 30th, 2023, in Russian or Ukrainian territory, including dissident republics founded since February 2022 in the region. A dirty bomb, combining explosives and radioactive material, will also be considered a nuclear weapon in the context of this market’s resolution.
Futuur will resolve this market based on credible media reports, official and technical statements by the International Atomic Energy Agency, and other reputable sources.
