Market Rules

The 2026 English local council elections are scheduled for May 7, 2026, with 5,014 seats contested across 136 local authorities. This event groups markets asking whether the Labour Party will win the greatest number of seats on each specified council. Each market is independent, so Labour's result in one council does not affect its result in another. "Winning the most seats" means Labour wins more council seats than any other single party in that authority's 2026 election. If Labour ties with another party for the highest number of seats, the market resolves to "No".

Resolution will be based on the official results as declared by the returning officer of each local authority and the relevant local authority's published results page will be accepted. Resolution may rely on concordant reporting by reliable news outlets chosen at Futuur’s discretion in cases where official certification is delayed or partial vote count is sufficient to establish a winning party beyond mathematical doubt. .
