Will the global temperature in July 2024 be higher than the temperature observed in July 2023?
Market Rules
According to the US Environmental Information Centers of Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), November 2023 was the warmest month ever in the world since it began recording global temperature 144 years ago. This "milestone" is yet another alarm of the climate crisis arising from human activity, and raises questions about the measurements for the coming months.
If the rise in the world's global temperature — i.e. the combination of both land surface and ocean temperatures — for July 2024 is greater than +1.20°C (the recorded rise for July 2023), this market will resolve to “Yes”.
This market will be resolved based on the data made available at https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/access/monitoring/climate-at-a-glance/global/time-series/globe/land_ocean/all/8/2015-2024
