Atmospheric methane concentrations to grow in 2025?

Market Rules

The World Meteorological Organization annually publishes a report tracking the release of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. According to the report published in October 2025, in 2024 there was an increase in the levels of methane, a gas that contributes to the intensification of the studied effect. In 2023 there were 1934 parts per billion, while in 2024 the average was 1942 ± 2 parts per billion.

If the data in the next report from the World Meteorological Organization about the release of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere (expected to be published in the second half of 2026) shows that methane gas levels in the atmosphere in 2025 were higher than 1942 parts per billion, this market will resolve to “Yes”.
